We decided to make the day an easy day for them. But Bryan and I were restless to get out and do something. So we took a walk. First we walked to the visitor's center where we saw a bison in the parking lot. You do not see that everyday, unless you are in Yellowstone.
Next we went along the North Rim Road. Walking on payment got old in a hurry, so the first trail we saw going through the woods we took.
Imagine if you can, we are walking surrounded by trees, not knowing where the trail will lead. But then we step out into an opening and there before us is the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. This is a magnificent sight and to have it just suddenly open at your feet was more than just breath taking.
Our trail had intersected the North Rim Trail. We hiked up this trail for a short way. Then it began to rain and we decided it was time to head back to camp.
Later the Boys were rested and ready for their own adventure. We first went to Artist Point, which is the best place to see the Lower Falls From there we went to the Brink of the Upper Falls and some of the overlooks on the North Rim. By then it was time to go back for supper. We built a fire this evening, but not much of one. Our wood how been soaked by the rains. We basically got smoked and then crawled into the sleeping bags.
