Today was our first full day at Circle K. Anita and I started our day with a hike. We found a trail that left the resort to the west of us and followed it. It traveled parallel to the river until it met a creek and then headed up the canyon above the creek. We just hiked until it was time to turn around and head back to the cabin. The weather was perfect. It was cool enough to need long sleeves, but warm enough not to be too cold.
The trail we were on must be the major trail for all the wildlife in the area. We did not see any critters. But the trail was well covered with their scat. We saw deer, elk, coyote, and others we could not identify.
Popa and I went into Dolores to get some supplies. Along the way we stopped at Priest Gulch and bought our fishing licenses.
When we got back, we geared up and went out to the river. We fished more to do what we came here to do then to actually catch fish. The river is high and cloudy. Not very good fishing at all, but we are fishing a trout stream and all is good.
Anita drove to Dolores later to get in touch with Leah and Chris. They should be here about 10:00 pm tonight.
At the rec room I beat Anita in a game of eight ball. All in all, another great day in the mountains.
