We left Red River this morning after a good breakfast at the motel. I have had the free breakfasts at a lot of different motel, but this is the first time I have had the motel people actually cook the breakfast for me.
We made a brief stop at Fawn Lakes just up the road from Red River. They are man made ponds but beautiful none the less. The interesting thing is that there was frost and ice around the edges of the lake.
Today was another day of driving to get to Circle K Resort. Along the way we saw some awesome mountainous country. At one point we gained an elevation of 10525 feet. We saw deer and elk along the way. I saw what I thought was a coyote, but I am 99.9% convinced that it was a wolf.
We had lunch at The Malt Shop in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. I ate there 10 years ago when we stayed here with Tracie and Alan.
We are settled in here at Circle K. It is not a wow knock your socks of kind of place, but it should be sufficient for our needs for the next few days.
