Day 3 Yellowstone Expedition 2011 July 9, 2011

It was a hard day of driving, but we managed to make it to Trinidad, Colorado. By the end of the day we finally got into some mountains. But we had to pay our dues in the form of hour after hour of the  mind numbing flat high plains of Texas.

The boys are doing remarkably well for spending so much time riding in the car. They have video games and DVDs to keep themselves occupied. In fact the amount of electronics we are carrying with us is almost beyond belief. We have a Leapster, a Nintendo DS, a portable dual DVD, 4 cell phones, a GPS, a handheld GPS, 2 Color Nooks, 2 Kindles, 2 laptops, a netbook, 3 point and shoot digital cameras, a DSLR camera, a camcorder, 2 Classic Ipods, an Ipod Touch, a Sansa MP3 player and a geotagger. Of course we also have all the cords, changers, and batteries keeping them working.

However, they have become valuable tools. The GPS is helping us plan our route the cell phones help us find services we need along the way and arrange lodging for the night. The other devices are for entertainment. And as far as cameras are concerned, do not forget that each cell phone has a camera as does the DS. I feel like we are a rolling Best Buy.

A Long Day
