OMG WSD, WTF

Today we learned that our salaries will be reduced starting in September. The Texas congress did not appropriate the funds to WSD that they did to give us a raise in 2009. So that money goes bye bye. So how much is that? For the teachers, "$80 a month at a minmum." For me, "slightly higher than $80 per month."

Now I know that the state legislature did this to us, but I believe that WSD did not do near enough to let people know what we do and how hard we work at it. Anyone who knows a teacher knows with certainty that a teacher's day does not end when the day's last bell rings. The work goes on. It is no different for the teachers of WSD. But our leaders have given in to the erroneous views of the cluless. So they are fixing the superficial trappings to appease the politicians. Hey look evrybody, those teachers do not have long summer vacations. How could you every think that they were over paid?

Shame on you WSD. If you wanted to give us more non-working days and reduce our salaries you could have cut down the number of instructional days we have each year. Remember, we only get paid for the days we work. But I'm thinking that that would not be what the politicians. Forget that they don't know much about education and that ee are trained prossionals, let's just keeping jumping through their little hoops.
