A New Year Begins

It is the first Sunday of the new year. I have tried to make Sunday my day to catch up this blog. I have failed miserably. However, January is a good month to repent and get your act together. I do not do resolutions, I just try harder.

December is always a busy month for us. Anita had a birthday, we celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary, the girls had their annual Girls' Weekend, Christmas, and Kelly had another birthday.

Anita anad I went all out for anniversary gifts. I got her an agua marine ring and she got me a Canon XSi digital SLR camera. I have been wanting a DSLR for years. Now I have a much more complicated camera and associated software to learn. It takes picture in RAW which is another thing I have to learn. Friday Anita, her dad, and I went to Kilgore to watch the girls basketball team play. Counting the ones I deleted, I took around 700 pictures. That is something that would never be possible with a film camera. This camera does so much I wonder if I will ever learn it all. It will be fun trying, however.

Work starts tomorrow. I have been off since the 20th. I am not ready to go back. I think I am suffering from post-holiday depression. I guess the only cure is some hard work.

With that in mind, 4:00 am comes early. So I will take some drugs and go to bed.
