Sunday, 12 July, 2009 – Mark and his step son, Kevin showed up early this morning to take Alan and me fishing. We were loaded up and on the water by 7:00 am. We went all over the bay. At one point we became firmly grounded and it took all four of us doing a lot of pushing to get the boat floating again. The engine was not running right after this and we headed back to condo.
The problem was diagnosis as a fuel filter leak. Evidently when we ran aground, a cooler in the same compartment as the filter shifted and hit the filter. The problem was soon fixed and we were back on the water.
The fishing was not very good. I caught 5 speckled trout, but none of them were keepers. The trout have to be at least 15 inches to keep. You can only keep one fish a day over 25 inches.
Somewhere around lunch time we came in. I did get to see a porpoise.
After getting cleaned up, we went to Daddy's for a seafood lunch. It was a very good place to eat. We followed that with a supply run. We took a dip in the pool before calling it a day.
