Grand Canyon Expedition Day 2

Wichita Falls , Texas to Albuquerque, New Mexico

Today was a day of driving. A long drive in miles but the day went by quickly. I attribute it to good company and the excitement of the first full day on the road. We left Wichita Falls, Texas about 8:30 am and arrived at the hotel in Albuquerque, New Mexico about 5:00 pm MDST. We stopped once in Amarillo, Texas for gas and lunch. Lunch was simply sandwiches in the van. We stopped again in Santa Rosa for a break. We ended up getting Freezes and Shake at a DQ.  As I said, it was a day of driving.

However the topography has changed radically. We did see mesas, canyons, and now there are mountains in the background. Our ears popped ever so often as we changed altitude.

We had an easy, laid back evening. By the morning we will be ready to go again.

Total miles today: 509.08
