Applied Counseling Journal

Today's word: relief. First, because GED testing is over. There is little in this universe more boring than watching someone else take a test for hours. Since I am a cognitive person, I know that the boredom comes from within. And I accept the responsibility of my emotion. But it dose not change the fact that I am bored during tests.

Secondly, I have permission to take the school counselor's certification exam next semester. I have been worried that I would have to wait till June. That was cutting things too close to my August 31, 2009 deadline. If I do not have that piece of paper by then, my career as a school counselor is over. Now I have some wiggle room if something goes wrong. I do not think that they will, but it is good to be prepared for any eventuality.

And last of all, I have decided on my needs assessment project for COUN 5334. I am going to take a look at our testing results over the last few years and see what kind of trends are there. I like analyzing data, especially data that supports my own beliefs.
